Thunivu, Ajith Kumar Thunivu, Boney Kapoor Thunivu, Tamil movie Thinivu
The makers of the upcoming Tamil movie dropped a trailer on the weekend and raked in more than 30 million views on Youtube.
Producer Boney Kapoor, who shared the news of the trailer’s success took to Twitter, saying, “A rage that just hasn't settled. The #ThunivuTrailer hits 30 MILLION+ views in just 24 hours - extraordinary.”
Starring superstar Ajith Kumar, Thunivu is a heist movie that also stars Manju Warrier. This is Ajith’s 61st movie and third collaboration with Boney Kapoor and H Vinoth.
Thunivu is the story of a bank robber (Ajith) who gears up to rob a bank as he holds all the staff at gunpoint. Packed with typical punchlines one would expect from the star, the film is an out and out action film.
Thunivu was announced in February 2022 under the working title of AK61 (Ajith’s 61st film as a lead actor). The official title was only released in September 2022.
The film’s music has been composed by Ghibran, and Warrier recently took to Instagram to say, “Thrilled to have sung for @ghibranofficial!!! Happy to be part of a very interesting song in #Thunivu! Waiting for you all to hear it!”
Valimai, which was Ajith’s 60th movie and released earlier in 2022, also starred Huma Qureshi. The film earned Rs 234 crore in the box office, becoming the ninth highest grosser in Tamil Nadu.
Now here’s something fun. Thunivu, which is going to release on January 12, coincides with another superstar Vijay’s release - Varisu, which is pegged as a family entertainer. This means the two actors will be battling it out at the Box Office simultaneously. Fingers crossed, for both!
