Ingredients For Kachha Aam dhokla Recipe

  • 2 cups coarse besan or chana dal fluor

  • 1/2 cup finely grated green mango

  • 2 teaspoons coarsely grated ginger, green chillies and garlic taken in equal proportions

  • 3 teaspoons groundnut filtered oil

  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes

  • 1/4 teaspoons each - mustard seeds and poppy seeds

  • 1/8 teaspoon turmeric powder

  • pinch of asafetida

  • salt to taste

  • chopped coriander for garnish

  • 2 teaspoon sugar

  • 5 gm ENO or fruit salt

How to make Kachha Aam dhokla Recipe?

  1. make a thick batter ( idli batter like ) consistency using water and besan.
  2. add the grated mango, salt, 1 tsp. sugar, ginger and garlic and green chili paste, half of asafetida, turmeric powder and 1 tsp. oil and keep aside for 30 minutes.
  3. meanwhile prepare the steamer and grease the thali.
  4. also prepare the seasoning . So heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and poppy seeds. once they splutter,add green chillies. er add green chilies and asafetida
  5. switch off the flame and slowly add 3 teaspoon water and remaining sugar. cover with lid and let sugar dissolve.
  6. Add eno to prepared batter and whisk till you see batter turning frothy.
  7. pour batter in the thali. sprinkle red chilli flakes and steam for 20 mins.
  8. insert a knife to see if done. the knife should come out clean. if not steam for more 5 mins.
  9. once done invert the thali and let cool.
  10. cut into squares. spread the tadka and garnish with chopped coriander and serve..
